Overcoming embarrassment

 

Anne was now 65 years old and she never thought that her old age will be like that. She had a good life she everything, her husband, who was working and bringing money. He always told Anne that he will take care of her and she does not need to do anything only looking after the children. She had small house but they were happy. About 10 years ago, Anne’s husband became ill and shortly after suddenly died, even the doctor had no clue what it was. Because of the sudden death, Anne had to do everything herself. Her daughter is grown up and married, she found very good young man and good family, Anne made everything to make her daughter happy. She spend all the money for her wedding and as presents for the wedding.

Slowly, she noticed that there were no money any more, she decided to sell her house and moved in a small renting room but also was looking for job. She did not have luck and within last few years noticed that she had nothing and was on the street, the only what she could do is just to ask kind people to give her a bit of money for food.

At the very beginning she felt ashamed and often she did not dare to approach people, on some days she did not eat for days and one day when she felt that there is no other way, she then did not care and decided to wash herself, made her hair, she put on clean clothes and went on the street.

She decided to approach women, they are usually kind and have compassion.

Today she noticed three beautiful women who were young and beautiful, she was jealous about their youth and beauty, she remembered the time when she was young and she did not think about the future. The young women had a laugh and looked happy. Anne, slowly approached them. She apologised and told that she would be grateful for some money to buy some food, she was not able to look into their faces, because she was afraid to be disappointed if they become angry.

The young ladies were kind, they did not look at Anne, but one of them collected money from her friends and given to her. Anne was grateful and thank them from the bottom of her heart. She also thanked God for being so kind to her and for sending her this money through the young ladies. Today she had money for her food what will be tomorrow? She wanted to think about that tomorrow.
