Contest Alert: ...In that Moment
Hello everyone On this occasion I would like to participate in a contest held by @sahmie about Contest Alert: ...At That Time
this is my previous entry I would like to invite my friends @vickyson @owulama @ashley-p to participate in this contest
A few weeks ago, when heavy rain poured down non-stop, I stood under the flyover where I usually take pictures of traffic. The cold wind slapped my face, but I felt truly alive. Amidst the roar of rain and the roar of vehicles, there was an inner silence that was hard to explain. I opened my jacket, let the raindrops wet my arms—because at that time, I wanted to feel it all. The world was busy, but I was fully present there.
The moment I most want to experience again is a simple morning with my family in the village. Breakfast with fried rice made by my mother, the laughter of my younger siblings fighting over fried eggs, and my father who secretly added chili to his plate because he felt the food was too bland. We sat cross-legged on the floor, without gadgets, just chat and jokes. Warm. Simple. Full of meaning. I want to relive that morning again—and maybe one more after that.
If I could pause time, I would push ‘stop’ on the moment my son had light in his eyes, hugging from behind and saying “Daddy stop_Working lets play …. I gapped. My world froze. In that second I learned how fleeting the time we have together is. I plan to immortalise that hug and the little body of his that was warm as a blanket, and also his voice so innocent it reached into my heart
There is also one day that I will never ever be able to forget the day I seriously got sick a couple of years back. I was like zero to do. My wife waited for me in the bedroom never asked and took care of every thing : new garb, food, sweat wiping from forehead every few hours.
She didn't complain. Instead she said with a smile, "When you feel better give me super hug. And that is what I learned after a while: love need not be spoken it shows in silence in the subtle gestures that make you feel good without you asking for nothing in return.
The little moments, the fleeting moments are really what keep us going according to my life.
