Do You Swear to Tell The Truth?

in #academia9 years ago

There's a myth as to its origins, I heared, "“Testify” Comes From the Latin Word for Testicle. ... In ancient Rome, two men taking an oath of allegiance held each other's testicles, and men held their own testicles as a sign of truthfulness while bearing witness in a public forum."

What?

The man has got a point...

Is there some truth to this? I mean how is that even possible? Put your balls on the line...

Must take a lot of trust to even alow someone to have the power to crash your balls should you be lying...

they understood that a person who lies when the truth matters, should not continue his family line.

i think steemit should have similar guidelines for abuse of the flag. i'm not sure what women would have to put on the line. i'm sure we could figure something out.

I think crushing nuts would do... wonder what ladies would risk in their honor

i'm not for cruel or unusual punishment. i'm sure we could come up with a way to chemically sterilize both sexes.

We may call it steemit balls and nuts challenge

since we're making it non-discriminatory, we could call it, putting the gonads on the line.

Still thinking howbto go about it...ovary thing

i think a policy like this would solve problems at a lot of different levels, long term.
