You may not believe me if I say that the navy blue as you see here is not so silent in ancient times. This is the sea in front of Banda Aceh today. Formerly, it was a bustling port city on the Malacca Straits.
Now compare this to an illustrative picture in François Valentijn's book (Oud en nieuw Oost-Indien) about this harbor city of his day (The beginning of the 18th century).

Now, it's all gone, even the ghosts.
Special thanks for resteem my post! ;)
Beautiful and peaceful sea! It's amazing that this used to be a busy harbor in the old days! "Even the ghosts" were gone already!
