Getting Back on Steemit!

in #achievements6 years ago

It's been long since I have posted here on steemit, because of a lot of things happened in my life. Positive things actually. But for sure I am glad to be back here. Here's how I feel right now!

So I am gonna "tell you all about it" now, :)

It was a great time, by the way. I have traveled a lot, seen a lot of people, learned a lot. Actually, it was the first time for me to do something like this. Being able to see how the world works outside your home place is very much educational.

So the long period included two competitions which I had the chance to attend in which I had to compete with top students across my country. It was really a wonderful experience.

Smart India Hackathon 2018

This is one of the world's largest hackathons, participated by students from all over the country in which they have the chance to solve real-life problems using hardware and software, conducted by the Central Government of India. The competition takes place in nodal centers that are located at places across the country. The team I have been a part of, travanCode developed an ATM Theft Detection System using Deep Learning Neural Networks as a solution for the problem proposed by the Government of Punjab. And the most exciting part is that we became the 2nd runners-up in the competition. It was really a proud moment for us all. We really had a blast

HackQuest v2.0

It was a cybersecurity Catch the flag competition, conducted by TCS, in which I had to do penetration testing on a virtual machine. I didn't win the competition but the experience I had is very much valuable for my career. Also, I got to meet some new friends who are pro hackers in my country and compete with them! The competition lasted 2 days. We, the candidates had to stay at Delhi for two days. The accommodation and hospitality were superb. Really enjoyed it a lot.

Future Plans?

I hope to be a frequent visitor to Steemit and Utopian. Planning to write some more blogs and coding tutorials. It really helps my learning capability, because we learn when we share knowledge. And that's all for now. See you all again soon.
Enjoy the song by the way! :D

THANK YOU

Wasn't aware of government sponsored hacking competitions but I'm not involved in anything with programming or coding so that shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone. I wonder if the US government does competitions like that?
Sounds like your skills are pretty darn good, second place is nothing to be ashamed of for sure. Good luck in the future and welcome back.

Getting into competitions and having side projects outside of our usual job always produce great experiences and memories. For me, it is what keeps me going. Keep it up! :)
