Introducing myself on Steemit | Achievement 1

Hello everybody on Steemit, I'm Adepa Adjaye from Ghana and this is my introductory post and also my first blog here.

I turned 21 on January 7th this year and I also graduated last two years from University of Ghana Legon. By the grace of God Almighty after my national service work as a secretary I've landed a decent job as one of the managers of the social platform of a reputable T.V station in Ghana, Light TV
which is based in Kumasi but broadcasting nationwide. Reputable but not one of the biggest, it's still known anyways.

I was living in Accra with my parents but because of the job opportunity I had to move. Although it's not a tedious work, getting away from a place I'm used to is not that exciting but the excitement of a new location in a way balances everything for me. My salary cheers me up a little but not enough I'll admit.

My role is a junior assistant to the overall manger of the social media platforms of the station, Mr Frank Osei. So most of the work is to handle things when he is not around. That means I'm part of those that could actually work from home, my parents rented a place for me and are always calling me to check up.

But I actually do like going out when I get the chance to. Since news casting is part of the station, sometimes we're allowed to go out. As part of the strict media policies, we're not allowed to post pictures of the office space but that doesn't mean we can't use our phones. I'm hoping to be transfered to the smaller branch in Accra hopefully by the end of this year so I can get closer to my family.

Every now and then I have a few days break and that's when I travel back to Accra to meet my family and friends. But I'm making new friends year little by little.

I do like going on vacations although I'm yet to travel outside of Ghana. Perhaps I'll make my first visit to Nigeria this year. My big brother does buy and sell businesses in both Nigeria and Dubai so he has promised that he'll take me along this year. I was thinking it would be on my birthday but he was extra busy at the time.

What my friends say about my personality is that I like talking. I can't count how many times I've been on a class list for talkatives during my Junior High experience. So I think it'll be nice to also put that into good use here and write a lot. But the truth is I am usually a talkative when my friends are around me. When they're not around I'm more silent.

As for hobbies, I like listening to music, watching both music videos or live performances, also paying attention to the news a lot since that's also part of my work. There's so much tension around the world right now. One of my visions and also why I'm happy to have landed the job I have is to learn an art. The art of presenting bad news in a good way. I don't even know if that's possible because bad is bad. But so much tragedy and war going on, it would be nice to have had social media flooded with good news and things that brings hope.

Maybe one day I might create a good news platform to cheer people up. But while I can't do that right now, at least I can share something good on Steemit every now and then. I haven't met anyone yet but I know I'll feel at home on this platform.
