Yes, it can be very emotional to witness such things. I believe the birdhouse is much safer now and the birds have been busy making the nest after I moved it. I might put a cone on the pole to prevent cats from climbing it but I doubt it will be needed in the location it is at now. (Dog-oh patrols the yard pretty regularly)
Dogs are blessings and they understand the emotions to greatest levels and in my opinion sometimes understanding of Human Beings will be failed before theirs.
