My Actifit Report Card: February 22 2026

As I set off from the village of Bourton-on-the-Water, with its lovely river running through the center, I was immediately captivated by the quaint cottages adorned with climbing roses. The sound of the water gently flowing added to the serene atmosphere. I stopped to take a few pictures of the iconic arched stone bridges that are so characteristic of this area.
While walking along the River Windrush, I bumped into a lovely couple from London who were visiting the Cotswolds for the first time. We chatted about our favorite spots in the region, and they mentioned the local bakery, which I now had to check out. They recommended trying the scones, which sounded perfect for an afternoon treat!
Continuing my walk, I meandered through a few small hamlets, each with its own unique charm. I saw the stunning St. Lawrence's Church in the village of Bourton-on-the-Hill, which dates back to the 12th century. The history of these buildings is fascinating; many carry stories from different eras, from the Norman conquest to the Tudor period.
As I made my way towards Chipping Campden, I stumbled upon a beautiful field of wildflowers. The vibrant colors and fragrance were intoxicating, and I couldn't resist lying down for a moment to soak it all in. It reminded me of how important it is to appreciate the simple beauty of nature.
Upon reaching Chipping Campden, I visited the Market Hall, a beautiful 17th-century structure that stands as a testimony to the town's historical significance as a market town. I learned from a local historian I spoke with there that the town was a center for the wool trade in the Middle Ages, which contributed significantly to its wealth
