Niedziela mroźna, ale to dopiero przedsmak siarczystej zimy

Another frosty night, with temperatures hovering around minus 10 degrees Celsius. This is due to a massive high-pressure system looming over Siberia and heading towards Western Europe. The cold is expected to peak next weekend. I wonder if any record-breaking cold snaps will be broken in Poland.

Kolejna mroźna noc, bo temperatura oscylowała w okolicach, minus 10 stopni. Stoi za tym ogromny wyż zalegający nad Syberią i kierujący się ku Europie zachodniej. Apogeum zimna ma przypaść na przyszły weekend. Jestem ciekawy czy padną rekordy zimna w Polsce.

But as long as it's sunny, a walk, even in the freezing cold, is pleasant. It's already the second half of January, and the sun is rising higher, and therefore increasingly stronger. You can feel it when you perch on a bench in the full sun. You can easily unzip your jacket and soak up the sun's warmth.

Ale póki jest słonecznie, to spacer nawet podczas mrozu jest przyjemny. To już druga połowa stycznia i słońce jest coraz wyżej, a co za tym idzie, jest coraz mocniejsze. Da się to odczuć, gdy przycupnie się na ławce w pełnym słońcu. Spokojnie można rozpiąć kurtkę i akumulować ciepło słoneczne.

The birds showed up today in small numbers. This isn't surprising, as they're often scared away by people and dogs let loose everywhere. But those that did arrive received generous portions of peanuts and sunflower seeds.

Ptaszki pojawiły się dzisiaj w okrojonym składzie. Nie ma w tym nic dziwnego, bo płoszą je ludzie i psy wypuszczane gdzie popadnie. Ale te które przyleciały dostały spore porcje orzeszków i słonecznika.
