Some Days, Walking Isn’t An Option
This morning, I got up totally exhausted. (Lots of reasons why I did not sleep well, but that is another story for another day.) Suffice it to say that all I did this morning was a minute plank.
I knew today would not be too busy, so I decided I would get a walk in between lunchtime at 11:30am and my conference call at 2:00pm. Little did I know that would NOT happen for me.
My coworker came over to ask about something as I was finishing my lunch, and he said, “Just come by when you are done so we can talk about this stuff, okay?” My first thoughts were, “Stop by his desk AFTER your walk!!” But I did not follow my first mind and I went to his desk first. We ended up sitting and working on a problem the whole time that I had planned to go walking. THEN, after the conference call, he came to my desk and we finished resolving the issue. Of course it was time to go home then. 🤷🏾♀️
So I didn’t get much exercise in, but resolving the problem gave me some good practice for the work we will be doing next weekend in Atlanta.
Walking wasn’t an option for me today because I did not listen to myself and my needs. But I am thankful for the walking I did get in today.
