How Steemit has Changed Thinking Patterns - Changing Lives!

in #adsactly7 years ago (edited)

I am 27 years old which means I was born in 1990. People say that my generation has seen massive innovation and growth in technology. From letters, to pagers, to landline phones, to mobile phones and then to Internet. Everything has come into existence and daily use so fast. I’ve seen it all. We haven’t had pagers much here in our region. My first experience watching pager being used was in FRIENDS. But yes, I’ve seen and used myself the rest of them. I’ve written letters to my cousins living in other cities.

I still remember our first landline number. I still remember the first call that was made from it to my father’s office to let him know that now he could talk to us anytime he wanted and let us know when he was leaving and we could always contact him to let him know what to bring home etc. It was so fascinating at that time. Then came mobile phones. Everything went on from being wired to wireless. I remember I used to dial my landline number from the mobile and keep it inside a box to check if the landline still ringed, lol.

Talking about technology, I was introduced to Steemit by @ghulammujtaba last year in July. Basic introduction to the platform was a blogging platform where you’d post your stories/content, and get paid directly by the members of the platform. Seemed interesting right away. He did tell me a little bit about crypto currency and blockchain as well. However, I didn’t understand properly nor did I pay much heed to it. I started blogging in August and started earning bits from the blockchain. The whole concept was quite fascinating as nobody was paying me money directly from their pocket. It was yet another shocker for me as far as the technology was concerned. I was astonished by the plinth of it as it was certainly beginning of a revolution in economic system. To be honest, for the first four months, I was totally ignorant to the crypto world. I didn’t know anything how it worked or even how to invest in it. My first investment came in the month of December. It was my first Bitcoin. I still didn’t understand the value of Steemit or Steem for that matter. I kept reading articles by whales like @kingscrown and other senior members like @steevc about the ranking of Steem in the crypto world but I wasn’t getting the idea. I kept on posting random stuff about photography or life in general. Which wasn’t bad, I just didn’t know what I was getting in return. I didn’t understand the actual value of the currency I was getting. When I started investing in altcoins, I actually got to realize what a gem I’ve been a part of.

Steemit has been an amazing platform for all of us. Steemit has changed lives, I’ve experienced that myself. Talking about @cryptoctopus or professionals like @exyle and many others. They have switched to this platform as full time which is a HUGE motivation for us minnows here. We now know that we can make use of this platform and grow as it grows. Over the last couple months, our dear Steem has grown pretty nicely. It has been steady. I still remember @exyle and other reputed whales writing about the blockchain and the price of Steem when it stayed under a dollar for months and months. They were confident about it. I didn’t really know what they wrote about but I always used to read stuff to try to understand it. Having spent months here, I now realize the actual value of Steem and Steemit. We can seriously start thinking about it and make maximum use of it.

I’m a communication student but haven’t been associated with my field since graduation. I’ve been a part of a software house based in Pakistan. I work for the customer support department. The main reason is that jobs in my field at entry level don’t pay much. Beginners have to struggle for initial years both professionally and financially. I haven’t been in a position to leave my current job and join my field just because I have to support at home. I have a new hope from Steemit that I can grow here and fulfill my financial needs and get started with my own field too. I have a few projects related to my own field i.e. Production, Journalism etc. that I am aiming to start here at Steemit. I have a lot of plans associated with this platform now. I am sure at least 80% of them will work. Fingers crossed! :)

One of our friends is getting married next month in the southern part of the country. A week’s expenses are almost half my one month’s salary. I definitely can’t afford it from the monthly budget. Talking about technology and how Steemit has changed lives and thinking patterns, I was sitting with a couple Steemians from Pakistan Yesterday and we thought we could use our Steemit profiles to finance our trip to Karachi to attend the wedding and spend some good time there. I’m not sure how successful it is going to be but the main point behind writing this post is that Steemit has changed how we think, how we plan our stuff. How we plan our career in fact. I haven’t come across such an online platform which has changed the lives of people so much.

I hope and pray that the platform becomes a great success for everybody trying to work for its development. I hope it grows cuz we grow together. I will be starting a couple projects very soon and will write the pilots this Wednesday and post them by the weekend. I hope to get a lot of feedback on them so I can tweak them as much as possible to make them a success for me and of course, for the platform as well eventually.

How has Steemit been for you? Has it changed the thinking and planning patterns for you too? Has it been a help to you to buy gifts for your loved ones as well? Has it been a source of spreading joy for you too? I’m sure it has. Do let me know about it in the comments if you feel like.

Until next time, peace and love to everyone!

Steemit has for real changed how people associated with it think and behave and lead their lives.
I hope you get to go at the friend's shaadi :D

Haha, thanks!

I do hope you get to attend that friend's wedding. You already know Steemit has changed my life. I wrote an oh-so-long post on it 2 months back. Currently, I call it my second home where I can be exactly who I am. :D
