In 2017, I was in the Indian part of the Himalayas, in the region around Leh... At 52, I first did the tour accompanied by an Indian friend and then spent three weeks on my own. Were there people who thought I was crazy? Of course! Always ;-)) But it was the greatest thing I've ever experienced and it will remain so...
I am sure those memories are still lingering with you as fresh as like as if it was just yesterday. People some times underestimate each others capabilities, especially those who have known you for long. Such accomplishments of life go a long way with us. Kudos to your not giving up attitude.
