Perfect Summer Adventure in Calaguas Island!

It's summertime! Have you planned your summer vacation already? Summer won't be complete without the beach and the bright sun! From Naga City, we traveled 2 hours to reach the meeting place at 6:30 am in Daet, Camarines Norte. The Jeepney service is already waiting for us when we arrived. Just in time, we traveled additional 30 minutes to reach the Vinzons port where we will be riding a boat going to Calaguas Island.

Everyone is excited! We're all wearing life vests for safety since it's a 2 hours travel to reach the Island. Indeed, it was an adventure as we are crossing the sea during high tide while big waves are pushing our boat back and forth. It was a long travel but it's all worth it when we see the water turning to blue and crystal clear, as well as the sparkling white sand as we approach the island.

As soon as we arrived, the staffs assisted us to our nipa hut and a few moments later they served our lunch. The foods are also sumptuous seafood! Wow! It was in fact, more than enough for the 8 of us! After lunch, we got ourselves ready for the next activity. Since we availed a tour package, there are exciting activities in our itinerary. We had enough time to take some selfies while waiting for our Guide.

On our day 1 we had a Island Hopping as our first adventure. We visited the Balabag island and rock formation.

We also climbed on the hill to see the whole scenery. It was breath-taking and was a perfect spot for a BFF Goals photos. haha

After the Island hopping, we went on the deep water part of Pinanakpan Island for our snorkeling adventure. Since I don't know how to swim I got a life jacket tightly wrapping my body. haha. The area was certainly deep, but it didn't stop me to experience snorkeling.

With the crystal clear water, I can clearly see the coral reefs, as if I can touch it with my hands. It was a super wow! experience! I'm speechless, just wow. hahaha

It gives additional excitement when our Guide asks us to sit on the katig and do a banana ride while we are on our way back to the island. It was an awesome experience!

As soon as we arrived on the island, what we did next is the kayaking. We explore the wide sea until sunset. We also had a sumptuous dinner and very comfortable sleep in a tent.

For our Day 2, we had the Trekking adventure in Sitio Tinago. At 6 am we start climbing the hills. From the top you will see the breath-taking view of the nearby Islands.

The green hills, blue water and sky, the fresh cool air and the sun kissing my face is telling me that I am really in paradise!

We were too busy taking pictures and didn't notice that our colleagues were all down the hill, but wait! There's this dog that seems to be waiting for us. He's guiding us on our way back. He looks so tired, he stopped in the shade of the tree and took some rest. So I sat with him and feel the fresh air. I will share with you more about this dog in my next post.

We super duper love the place. The surrounding is very clean. The water is very cool. The place is very peaceful. The foods are delicious and most of all the people are very generous and friendly. We will definitely come back!

For our transportation from Naga City to Daet since we brought our own service, we only shared P200 per head for the gasoline. Plus the P1999 tour package and P100 for the snorkeling gears. Total of P2,299 only! There are also souvenir items available on the island, also dried fish and fresh lobster that you might consider buying.

There's no network signal in the island, thus you can definitely relax your mind from the stress of your work. There's no electricity, though they have generators and solar panel, I advise that you should bring power banks as well. Of course, a sunblock for your skin! You can confidently have fun under the sun if you know that your skin is protected. Most importantly, prayer, always ask for the Lord's guidance and safety.
