Open Letter To @ned
It pleases me to write you on account of developing or third-world countries, as some choose to refer to the yet to develop countries.
Many of these countries are in Africa, in Asia, and South-America. They are educationally and technologically disadvantaged. In other words, they are left out in the today's knowledge, ranging from software development to cryptography.
The development of steemit and its improvement that made it user friendly is the best thing that has happened to our world. I came across how steemit began and the initial way of operation which allowed for the use of codes to give command by the user. That amazed me. I couldn't have been part of it if it has continued. A big thanks to you for such an initiative.
I write to make my observations known to you. I have read about cryptocurrency, studied it on my own as much as I could and have come to some conclusions. I personally realised that a coin can become worthless immediately its supply goes beyond 100million. I have followed the prices and it played out as I thought. Whenever, a coin is on ICO, people check the supply and wether it is still being mined. These two factors affect the price of the coin.
However, your initiative of steemit, a social network that is based on steem and steem dollar has made nonsense and public show of the above knowledge. Steemit as a social network has the capacity to accommodate 4 billion adults in the world. The world population is at 6 billion, and adult population may be at 4 billion.
Facebook celebrated 2 billion users recently. I have a concern that steemit will get to 3 billion users before Facebook. The reason is clear. People use Facebook for the joy of expressing themselves and connecting with people. The same service, steemit offers and more. Steemit rewards the users. At least, it can pay for the data you spent using it.
Steemit, I must say, is under advertised. Many are yet to know. Reason we are trying our best to reach out to people.
Africa has the population to make steemit take over from other social networks. With one billion anticipated users in few months, steem and steem dollars will become scarce coin. One billion steem to one billion users is a joke. So more steem is needed as long as more people are coming in on steemit.
So you can agree with me that steemit is still in her nascent stage. No number of users will be too many, and no number of steem in criculation will make steem useless or worthless coin as people do say.
Many, usually those from developing nations, come and go because of the two afore-mentioned disadvantages, poor education and poor technology know-how. Something needs to be done.
Steem blockchain is a decentralized blockchain. Its value level is dependant on it's acceptability. Through steemit.com steem becomes acceptable to the whole world. And when it is adopted world-wide, and over 4 billion world adults go for it, over 10 billion steem in circulation will not be too much. People must go for steem power which is a necessity to breaking through on the platform.
May I suggest that special encouragement is needed for prospective steemians from under-developed countries. The activities of minnow support groups should be encouraged to stem the rate at which people bow out after few days of registration and confirmation.
The following motivational projects should be considered for the disadvantaged population:
Concession may be proper for this set of people.
Promo aimed at encouraging citizens of under-developed nations.
A knowledge based contest with a spread reward to five or more should be organised regularly for this set of people only.
The system should find a way of rewarding those who put out good posts but receive no nothing.
Steemit is more than just money making platform. It is a tool with the capacity to promote mutual understanding and world Peace.
Thanks for building steemit

Thanks my own brother.
Great post @ebohio2008. There is really a lot the steemit community is doing to spread the word and encourage greater adoption of steemit in 3rd world countries, but primarily the effort and the ball lies in the courts of such countries, more people from these countries need to embrace the challenge of learning to excel on steemit, and teaching same to others. There are various reward structures already in place in steemit, and still more under development, that these individuals can use to better themselves and encourage greater adoption of steemit by their citizenry.
Great contribution boss. Thanks for dropping by.
