01.The first four Alkanes are gases (methane,ethane,propane and butane ) and next thirteen alkanes are colourless liquid .Higher alkanes are waxlike solids.
02.The melting point of alkanes raise with incease molecular weight.
03.They are non-polar compounds.
04.the boiling point also increase with increases the molecular weight.
05.The specific gravitiy of alkanes are increase with the molecular weight.
