Welcome to my second part of the Amazon FBA tutorial series.
Today I'll explain how to find a profitable private label niche.
Our dream product called gold nugget should contain several attributes:

  • a Price between 10$ - 30$
  • low competition
  • high sales volume
  • not optimized best seller listings

Since I am a seller of the european Amazon Marketplaces, I'll show you example Listing of German listings.

Lets Start searching a niche!

Select the category overview and select a random category.

Scroll through the pages and select an Item with a good price between 10$ - 30$
In my case, I chose a toilet paper holder in the kitchen & Bath category.

Let's have a look at the listing.

Let's check the Amazon Bestseller Rank called BSR.

This Item has a BSR of 1092 in Home & Kitchen.
There are several Tools out there which can analyze this rank to provide several pieces of information about the sales volume.
In my case, I'll use XRay Chrome Extension which is made for the German Marketplace.
Let's use "Toilet paper holder" as our main keyword to analyze the niche.

XRay shows that one of the Listing is leading this niche with 40.000€/Month sales volume.

This Item has a perfect optimized listing with a key feature which is why it is selling so good. It has a Smartphone Shelf attached. This is called Unique Selling Point (USP)
This is exactly what we need. A product of an actual good niche with a strong USP.
I'll take this product as an example of Amazon SEO since it is performing very good.

So now it's your turn

Spend lots of time to research your gold nugget niche where no one is having such a good listing as above and your way as private label seller is set.
