We are Precious
This is my first time using steepshot. Thanks to @leggy23 for the inspiration.
I came across this picture and I teared up a little because I have experienced loss too. I just never expected to see such raw emotion of anguish and despair from a monkey and the picture was captured just at the right time.
I read this article from Charlotte Scott called Clever Monkeys; she says:
“A monkey mother that has lost her infant seems especially hard-hit. In nearly all species of monkeys, the mother will carry her child’s lifeless body around with her for days. “
Sometimes, I feel like we don’t deserve the company of animals. They are genuine spirits.
