My roommate is a snake

Meet Lola, the most awesome snake I have met in a long time. She lives with me for about 7 years now. Lola is a Canadian Banded Water Snake. She mainly eats fish and is pitch black. This gentle creature ventures around my house from time to time, but she has her favorite places to chill, like my synthesizer. She loves laying on top of it 'cause it gets warm when in use.

Lola is about always the favorite animal around when there are guests. Even when people are initially afraid of snakes, or have never even touched one, Lola is there to help. She has converted many people from being dead afraid of snakes to snake lovers, and even adopting one themselves! She doesn't really have teeth, more like sand paper, so even when she would bite (which doesn't happen) you would only notice a few little red dots in the form of her mouth. Not really that scary, so that helps out a lot too when people don't dare to get close to her at first.

She's really all over the place, and even watches television with us sometimes!

A few years ago she really got famous. Along with another admin, we started the page 'Snakes with Hats', which got incredibly popular. Four years later we neared 300K likes, something we didn't see coming at all. Lola started it all. Sadly, Facebook removed the page last month without any explanation about how or what. We mailed them, but got a report back that the case was closed. No reason whatsoever. This saddens us, along with so many fans. I didn't save the pictures, so everything is permanently lost... :( Maybe one day we'll try again to build it up, but I don't know if it has any use. It really made me dislike Facebook even more...

But Lola? She's here to stay. At least for a few more years hopefully, since she is also very old already. But as long as she's around, she will continue to warm people's hearts with her lovely, slightly derpy personality.
