No more sacrifices

in #animals8 years ago

Day of sacrifice in a dogpound. One day they might be loved but moments before they died they felt alone, no one wanted them, nobody cared for them, no one offered them an alternative, only death.

Day of sacrifice in a dogpound, the dog that you abandoned end like this. Nobody cared.

They keep buying their dogs of breed, but every day is a day of sacrifice in many dogpounds. Every day this image is repeated in all parts of the world. Every day miles of animals die like this. Alone. Loveless. Their cries are heard for days locked in a cage to end their days on the ground dead.

This is a day of sacrifice in a dogpound, this is a kennel, this is the end.

No more abandonment.

No more abuse.

  Adopt or Buy

A dog does not know if it was purchased or how much they paid for it, it has no idea of its monetary cost in the market and it does not concern to it to know it. A puppy is a puppy, with all those amazing things that make him the man's best friend: he is faithful, affectionate, protective, funny.

I think my projection on rescued dogs outweighs the reality of their gratitude. Few things feel better than being a good human being. Generosity should not seek any gratification, but the truth is that we rejoice to be good, and that, even if we do not like to admit it, is to receive something in return.

When we think homeless dogs are more grateful, we really think about how much we are glad to have pulled them out of abandonment. We imagine the kind of life they must have endured and see in their eyes the same look of love that all the dogs of the world have, but with the added feeling of being their saviors. And yes, somehow we are, but we can not let ourselves be clouded by our ego. A puppy is a puppy and it will always love us, we have saved it or we have bought it.     .

What is certain is that a dog who lived on the street is much smarter because it had to survive extreme conditions, had to provide food, cross streets without being run over, find shelter at night, overcome diseases, immunize.

It has an instinctive intelligence that has nothing to do with the training it can receive from a specialist or the tricks it can learn. A dog that lived on the street knows that it needs to adapt and fast: to your house, to your customs, to your manias. A dog who lived in the street surely wants to please you with much more vehemence than a puppy that grew up with all its needs covered and already knows that he manipulates as he wants.

The puppy that lived in the street and now lives in your house will also manipulate you horrendously, but will do so making you feel kind instead of soft. There lies the projection of your ego and the intelligence of these dogs.

"If you pick up a hungry dog from the street and make it prosperous, it will not bite you; That is the main difference between a dog and a man "-. Mark Twain.

The dogs breed have suffered a terrible discredit because they were in the middle of the cross fire between the campaigns of adoption and the intention to enhance the benefits of the mixed-breed dogs. Thanks to the success of adoption campaigns, owners of purebred dogs are harshly pointed out and, therefore, their furry ones are exposed to public scorn.

The large number of mixed-breed dogs in the world is due to the indiscriminate reproduction of these dogs in a state of abandonment. These dogs over the years of natural selection, have come to form a breed by itself. They have some typical colors and a more or less standard size.

Every dog with breed or not, it deserves a home and not the abandonment.

¡Gracias! Magnífico post, comparto absolutamente todas tus ideas.
