The River Otter
The river otter (Lontra Canadensis) is at home in Canada, Alaska, and north-western and eastern USA. However, they have been reintroduced to other regions of the continent after overhunting decimated their populations. Because of this reintroduction, and through various other protective measures, they have been increasing steadily in numbers. They thrive in any water habitat; ponds, marshes, lakes, rivers, and estuaries, as long as there is food to support them
