Protagonist Subaru (who's pretty dense) one day finds himself in another world brimming of magic and medieval fantasy. After a couple deaths he realizes, that he respawns at a savepoint when he dies. A cruel fate if looking at what is to come...

Clannad: After Story(2008)

Prepare to cry. A lot. This anime is the most emotional I've ever seen and it tells a beautiful story of love and hate, life and death.
Do watch the prequel Clannad beforehand though. It's not nearly as good as the second season and honestly they're pretty different anime, but you'd miss out on a lot of backstory.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi(2016)

Satoru has a strange power that sends him several minutes back in time when a tragedy is about to happen. When his mother gets killed, however, he leaps 18 years to the past with the mission to unearth the mystery of several abductions and killings that eventually lead to his mother's death.

Kimi no Na wa.(2016)

Somehow a boy and a girl happen to change bodies from time to time. Watch as the mystery of them unravels in this great drama and romance anime-film. You won't regret it! (unless you don't like shedding a couple tears)

Houseki no Kuni(2017)

In the future, earth is inhabitated by an immortal lifeform called "gems". They are regularly attack by another lifeform, the Lunarians, who try to harvest the gems. The story follows Phos, the youngest of the gems, in its adventure to find meaning in life.
Not only is the story fascinating and resemble anything I've ever seen before, but it's also an anime with CG done right. It's incredibly visually stunning.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood(2009)

"In order for something to be obtained, something of equal value must be lost." - Law of Equivalent Exchange
Only after the cruelty that befell the two protagonists, they realize that alchemy is bound by this Law. The two kids try to get back their dead mother with alchemy - only to lose his left leg in Edward's case and his whole physical body in Alphonse's case. In hope of returning to their former selfes they search for the Philosopher's Stone, which is said to be able to overcome the Law of Equivalent Exchange. This is story of war, tragedy and adventure. A true anime classic.

Steins;Gate(2011)

My absolute favorite. A timetravel anime you shouldn't miss out on! What makes this special are the self-proclaimed "mad scientist" Okabe Rintarou and the genius girl Makise "Christina" Kurisu as well as the overarching plot hinting at what is to come - or what already happened? (you know, time is a complicated matter), making this even better the second time you watch it. This anime gets more serious the farther the plot advances, so don't get deceived by the first couple episodes.
If you decide to give it a watch and like it, also watch the sequels: Steins;Gate: Oukoubakko no Poriomania and Steins;Gate Movie: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu and look forward to Steins;Gate 0 coming out this Summer Season.
