Appics featured 7 World's Continents Photo Challenge by @justinmullet

I made this photo on a starry dark night in Banff Alberta, Canada. Armed with a Canon 6D, old velbon tripod and a headlamp I shot the night sky for hours. The exposure is 30 seconds, and the trees are illuminated with the red LED of my headlamp. I distinctly remember how dark the night was, and in contrast, how bright the stars were. You could make out the horizon only because it contrasted with the bright stars behind it.
