I used to keep an aloe plant one the kitchen windowsill. I'd douse the burn in cold water, then break off a frond tip and smear the sticky gel squeezed out and rubbed on burns. It was better than any over-the-counter product I've ever seen – including the ones claiming to have aloe in their ingredients. Unfortunately, I don't have a proper windowsill to keep one now, nor a decent sunny open spot anywhere in my house. 😒
