Evening all and I hope life is good.

Another dip into the archives tonight and one of my favourite pieces. Here's a bit of a breakdown on how it was created

I got the mother of all motherboards out again and after zooming in to different parts of a previous shot I decided on this composition for this evening.

Tripod swap for the two elements with the Helios 44-2 mounted on the macro tubes for tripod 1. I lit the board from below with a torch and some vape for the shafts of light. Next I lit it from either side with red and blue gelled torches. I love this type of cross lighting and red fading to blue always does it for me.

Image for selective masking on my phone screen.

Next up lens cap on and a quick tripod swap to the selective masking using my phone and some black card. I chose a light blade image from a recent visit to an abandoned bomb store (above) and displayed this on my phone. I positioned 4 strips of black card on my phone screen like so.

This stops the rest of the image on my phone ghosting over the exposure of the motherboard. A handy trick to have at your disposal.

Shot during a single long exposure with a raw conversion in LR with some minor adjustments.
