Get Down - Light Painting Druids Temple
I had a superb night last year at a new spot over on the other side of the Pennines. Bit of a trek but well worth the drive.
Met up with @fastchris and @steem.tom.hill early doors and took in the place Tom so kindly shared with us. It's a really cool standing stone Folly which was built in 1820, complete with sacrificial alter and tomb.
Once we had wondered round for a while looking for ideas and composition we got started.
I turned on my big torch and chose my composition, the more powerful the torch the better for this, as framing up the shot in the darkness of night can be tricky.
One happy with the composition I fired shutter, then moved around the scene systematically lighting it up with my torch. Next I took up residence in the tomb area, filled it with vape from my e-cigarette and jumped on the count of 4 as Chris T fired the Godox flash behind me gelled orange which froze me in mid-air.
I'm pretty happy with my lighting of the scene here. It's not something I have done much of really as I usually rely on back light to do the job.
I look forward to a re-visit as there is tons more to shoot and is pretty equidistant for all three of us.
Here are a few more from the evening and as always if you have any questions please drop me a comment below.
Bit of fun with some steel wool and a funky fractal filter.
More back light and fractal filter fun.
Same as the first shot but without the jump :)
