LoL toxic levels are off the charts but I learned to handle them not through muting but by focus in game. I hardly look at the chats unless I'm in not in an intense moment in the game. It's really upsetting to see good games get brushed off by potential new players all because the community running it are so toxic. I agree with playing with a friend as much as possible. There's always someone to share your ups and downs with a friend. However, finding a new friend from a stranger is also another thing I look forward to with mmorpg's
