"A Hardened Garden"
My photo was taken of the ruins of the warden's house, officially called The Hoe House, at the site of the now closed Alcatraz Island Federal Penitentiary, off San Francisco. Alcatraz is also referred to as The Rock.
I found the decaying architecture made an impressive and memorable backdrop for the beautiful purple flowers and succulent green plants that continue to grow long after over 40 years of abandonment.

Alcatrez was a bit creepy and it started to rain as we ferried to the island, which only added to the overall gloomy feeling of the prison. The beautiful flowers and plants definitely were a blessing to the otherwise eyesore building remnants. @tattoodjay They say that Alcatraz is haunted, and they host an annual Halloween party there though that would be the last place I'd want to go. Yeah I would imagine it would be like that I do not think I would like to be there for halloween either
