My first step outside the box 👣
Hello Steemians!!!
I would like to share one of my previous works that got me closer to a timeless classic design style. Modern and contemporary designs are often used by "millenial" designers (including me) because of their clean facade, simple but eye-catching shapes and monochromatic colors. Influence is one of the biggest contributors to this kind of thinking; from the information schools feed you, modern buildings you see everyday which are almost identical, and even building trends on social networking sites dictate your approach in designing and conceptualizing a structure.
But what if you try not to rely on things you commonly see? Or using your usual design concept and method that has a high percentege to succed, and maybe stepping outside of your comfort zone? Have you ever tried it? Guess what? I did, though I don't always have a 100% assurance that it will be liked by my client, but end results turned out to be surprising, my client loved it!!! It's really an eye-opening experience to be able to break through to your what if's and fear of doing things differently.
Perspective of my very first Victorian Concept of a Commercial Building / Gasoline Station in a small town Called "Tupi".
Victorian Concept with high sloppy roof, complex molding ( which is very hard to mold on site), couple of classic wall lamp and lamp post and finishing it with a spire on the apex of the roof.
View of the Gasoline Station entry point.
Trust yourself because you're the only one who truly knows your capablities. Don't expect too much but have hope. Because, if you love what you do and you know you give loads of effort to every work, great rewards await you.
What's your first step story?
