London Transit turned memorable Visit.
Hi fellow Steemians!
The interior of The National Art Gallery, London.
It has been quite a while since my last post here in Steemit. My busy schedule really made me so occupied and at the same time brought me away from my desk to pen down almost anything at all.
I had been away from home and my love ones for almost 10 days. My destinations were Las Vegas, USA and Lisbon, Portugal.
Along the ways, Dr. Abu, my travel companion and I had to stop over at Heathrow Airport in London a few times for transits, obviously because we had chosen British Airways as our official transporter.
Our first stop over was an eight hour transit which left us not much choice but to go out of the hub for a short visit to the city.
The whole family sending us off at KLIA on Saturday, March 24th, 2018.
We had decided to pay a visit to the National Art Gallery. It was suggested by Dr. Abu, who is an art lover and a collector himself, who had been there many times after knowing that an artist like me, never step my foot to the the prestigeous place. Moreover, there was a special exhibition going on.
It was Degas from the Burrell‘s Collection.
It was a collection of works by French famous artist, Edgar Degas from Burrell, a very rich arts collectors community.
Of course, being there in slightly more than an hour , I could only have a glance at the famous Great artists like Van Gogh, Monet, Holbein, Rembrandt (just to name a few)
I am sharing here some of the photos taken with selected works that fascinated me most and let you, the arts lovers out there to guess, who were the artists.
Besides the famous series of Sun Flowers, Chair, Self Portrait, I never knew that Van Gogh also drew the Crabs 🤨 More importantly, I could had a closer look at the originals.
So much more to show. I hope I can post them in the next one.
Now I could understand more, why people love to visit such an art gallery, over and over and spending a long time just to appreciate the talent and knowing the mysterious stories behind each and every masterpiece.
Before leaving the gallery and the city, a quick snapshots would be nice as remembrance.
Bye bye London. Till we meet again.
Signing off
