Art is You Being Free

in #art7 years ago

Is it just the visual element or is it something more?

Working visually helps you see things as a whole.  It brings you into your center and into the present moment.

When you are in your art, you feel confident and open.  That openness helps you connect with the flow of the universe.  That flow helps you be greater than yourself.  That greater self is freedom.

When you are in your art, you are your boss.  Perhaps that's what I like most!  You are in charge.  You get to choose what happens, when and how.  Just you and the universe.

It's a Zen thing ...and not just for visual art.  You could be cooking, drinking tea, tending the garden or filing papers.  When you are in 'art' everything becomes beautiful.  Wherever you are is full of treasure.  All your experience is with you, fertilised by your actions, bringing new energy to the world.

Maybe we should all do that more often.

What's your art?

Hi, I'm Margot.  I love to write about energy, art and intuition.  Art is a great way to discover the universe side. Give it a go!

Your comments and upvotes encourage me to continue my work and are truly appreciated.

Hi @Lynncoyle1 Thanks for popping into my post. Lovely to meet a fellow artist. Kindred spirits can be hard to find!
warm regards,
Margot

It is a pleasure to meet you as well :)

What's my art? That is a good question, and I suppose it changes quite frequently, at least for me. From what you wrote, right now my "art" is responding to people, making comments, and trying to bring them a little bit of positivity, that, "yes virginia, there is a santa claus", moment, that someone really and honestly read their post. I found your post courtesy of @viking-ventures featuring you in his "Pay it Forward" contest entry.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment @bashadow. I've been busy away from the computer doing some art! Seeing the art in small things is definitely a path to happiness. best wishes to you and thanks for popping in to my post.
warm regards,
margot

Was a pleasure to read your thoughts on art. The question gets people to thinking, that alone is an art form, getting people to think.

Love your "yes Virginia" reference! That's exactly how I think of you!

You know in a few more years, if not even now, there will be people that do not understand the reference, do they even show it on TV still during christmas? It has been years since I saw the movie, Miracle on 34th Street.

I haven't seen that movie for years, but you're right, the reference will be lost on most in no time...maybe even already :) So sad, because it is such a classic, a bit like It's a Wonder Life!

Those movies are both classics. But they were black and white, at least I do not recall Ted Turner destroying those two movies with colorization. They are still original.

Still good ol' black and white! We're aging ourselves here you know :)

Do you remember having to go to the TV to turn a knob to change channels? To turn it up or down? it was all knobs, VHF, or UHF channels, no cable, no push button remote controls.

haha I remember. 13 channels. We kids fought over who had to get up to change the channel :)
