A Little Workout With the Knife - Soap Carving

in #art7 years ago

Hey guys, yesterday, I gave a little workout to my pencil and todaytoday I was thinking about giving the knife a little workout. Then a great idea came to my mind. It was something about carving and of course I can't carve wood. But I was thinking about something much soft than wood, it's soap!

Then I googled about soap carving but It made me think that I will never be able to carve a soap seeing the extremely awesome soap carvings. But I wanted to try soap carving so hard and I asked mom if there are new soap at home. Fortunately, there was one and then, I went to my table and started to carve it. This is the final output.

So here's the process

First, I took a soap and a knife. (I'm not a professional carver as I told before so I took just a normal knife which I found in the kitchen. It's a brand new one so I had to seal the blade with tape later)

Then I drew a circle at the middle using a pair of compasses.

Then I started the carving part.

I had to remove some of the surface part in order to erase the name of the soap, Atththora which was already carved. Then I wrote letter L on the circle part. Then I carved it and here comes the final output.

I wonder, how long did it take you to complete this? Nevertheless, this is something really creative. never would've thought about doing something like this!

It took me about just 30 minutes. Thanks and you can also try it

That is so cool! Even if you have never done it before it turned out so nice and symetrycal. I don't think I have ever thought of soap carving, it's so original good job!

Thanks a lot @justaboutart. You can also try it too. It's too easy. I think that you'll be able to do better than me :D

@chamudiliyanage a skillful person. It seems to be difficult for me.

I thought that the expression "googled" is interesting.

Thanks and btw, you can also try it too. It's not as hard as it looks like :D
