My Experience in Graphics

Unfortunately I was sick, so I could not even start this blog, but I feel better, today I come to talk a little about my experience in the Graphic or Graphic Arts. First define beforehand this profession, from my conception of what they are through my experience of the study of it, The Graphic Arts are the set of the various artistic disciplines of printmaking, each of them based on the design of an image on a matrix where the image is sealed and then inked and passed through a press, where with the help of pressure the latter transfers the design of the matrix to a paper or cloth surface, depending where you want it, whether it is technique to be implemented will be different materials to record, among the disciplines are linography, woodcut, monotype, drypoint, mezzotint, etching, aquatint, lithography and screen printing, there are various techniques but until now these are the ones I know, later in another chance you could talk about what I've had the chance to do.

Originally I wanted to study graphic design but because of economic situations, I could not, at the end I discovered this career that I call my attention because of its closeness to drawing and its artistic load, I have always come to think that the digital part I can learn by means of practice or courses, but this, not every designer will know how to do it, but I think that you must be an excellent draftsman to get from a plane like paper, to another surface and carve an image without requiring a pencil. At the beginning I saw myself with difficulty because of the sudden change, I had never done an engraving before or something, it cost me a lot and it hurt me with the gouges, tools for carving materials such as wood or linoleum, then my frustration at the difficulty I changed to see how great the experience was to see your design on paper once it was printed, I really loved seeing something that I had already tried printed with ink, although it was not the best and was the first recorded, it was mine and I loved it.

With help I learned that the key to this is dedication and patience, that one could not master all techniques so quickly, always open one that will call us more attention or it will be easier to apply and we end up dedicating ourselves to this, in my case it happened With the dry tip and the strong water, both are my favorites, they are the ones that I have done the most, because of their affinity with the drawing, in these techniques I can directly draw my design, play with the screen and the thickness of the line, the The result is always really wonderful in my opinion. Studying this career has taught me to be more patient and orderly, learn from my colleagues so much advice, as it is very methodical, always open certain details that can improve or worsen your stamp to the end, continuously practice to always improve as it occurs in the drawing or any specialty.

Sadly they are expensive techniques for the material where they are made, the presses where to print and the inks are special for this type of work, many countries sell you already the materials ready and prepared, I have learned to make some, but still it is something in that you can not improvise materials, it is delicate, carving is required to use your own, once again it is sad because they are practices that have been requested and very few people in the world dedicate themselves as a career, nowadays everything is digital , but the symbolic way of treating the image and physical effort that the engraving takes can not be replaced, we must make known the Graphic since previously it was our only means of reproducing images, and to give closure I will leave an etching done by my intervened with watercolors, I hope you appreciate it as I would write it and I wish you a happy night.
