1912 14th Ave South Birmingham, AL (Demolished now)
I was right in my mind. I saw this house in 1980s and knew that they were going to tear it down so I painted a painting of it to preserve the rememberance of it. I thought it was a great home. But within a year it was refurbished and a law firm opened up in it.
Now I left Birmingham in 2012 and just tried to google that house and it is now completely gone. Somehow I knew it wasn't going to stay. So now I am glad I painted that home.

Wow.....you did a great job. Keep on the good work.
Thank you... The reason this morning that this became an issue for me is that I couldn't locate any photos in my collection of that house other than the painting. So I went on line, and just like it never existed. Like "Its a wonderful life' with jimmy stewart, when he wished he was never born and then just like the twilight zone. But, this is real life. There is no web history of a business at that address, no pictures or anything. Just like the day I was determined to do the painting of that house. On Birminghams southside there are tons of old homes, but something about that one caused me to think that for history that I needed to do this painting. It even had a double staircase in the center living room with a huge chandelier hanging between the staircase. It was something. When I did the painting, the house was ready to be demolished, it was left to ruin. that is when I painted it, but since then, the house was bought and fixed but only to be later torn down for a larger business belonging to a neighboring credit union for parking spaces.
Beautiful! I love old homes like this!
