Some more for calligraphy inspiration board
Hi, guys!
Just came home from my calligraphy classes, and hurry to share some new ideas with you. Today we had to practice capital letters. Earlier, when books were either written by hand, or just stated to be printed, capital letters were drawn anyway. Mostly with brushes. They could take half of the page, and letter itself often got lost in ornament. They were especially interesting in oriental art, where religion forbids to depict live creatures (it's believed that an artist can't draw/create a living creature cause he in not god, so he can't give soul to it, and that after death all these creatures will come to him and ask for souls. Creepy, yep), so they were masters of floral ornament. Here are some examples from my classes today:

Wow. LOST art. And by art, I mean ART! Gorgeous lettering. Imagine writing someone a letter in caligraphy! Would they be impressed or what??
Nick.
Calligraphy is a big trend lately, no?
Wow! I wish I could draw letters like you! Great work! Keep up doing that.
By the way may be you will be interested in a competition? https://steemit.com/quotizm/@peliken/quotizm-art-challenge-round-1
