Illustration Challenge — Entry #4
My entry for today is a pillow.
I chose this item to draw because it is a simple one. The shape and curves can be drawn using tools like straight and oblong ruler. I am so glad that ibispaint is almost complete package in tools and it is free and convenient to use.
I used the oblong ruler to draw the bent lines inside the square. You can manipulate the ruler on its length and width so it's easy to use.
I also drew the tassel with a little triangle and lines, and the little rectangle. For the three lines on both sides inside, I used drew straight lines then used liquify to slightly bend both on top and bottom.
This is now how it looks as a finished illustration.
But without lineart looks better.
I only used pen fade in one layer where I based my clipping layers for blending colours.
I used airbrush trapezoid (Japanese paper type) for the background. That texture of our background is from this brush.
I used airbrush trapezoid (gauze type) for the color blending because it does multiple purpose, not only for blending but also for the texture of the object. You can't tell it was the its texture because the background texture has taken over it. But if I remove that background layer, you can tell it's a gauze if you zoom it in. (I'll put the photo below)
The last thing I used is Round brush for the tassel because tassel looks the same with hair strands, and I've used this brush for hair before.
My discovery today is...
The texture brush. You can edit brushes yourself to get the texture you want.
I can use pen fade for clipping and use airbrush directly for initial and final coloring or blending.
That is all, thank you for reading my art blog!
