The Camden Market Free Art Man 3 March 2026
I'll be doing The Camden Market Free Art Man every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12-4pm from now until November, unless I'm sick or the weather's bad. Then, like last year, I plan to spend December, January and February abroad, making drawings and paintings for March-November 2027. If I'm free to do Camden outside of these advertised times, I will. Like today, for instance. Today's Tuesday, I was free, so took a laundry bag and suitcase full of paintings to Camden and started giving them away to passers-by in exchange for a one minute interview for my YouTube channel. I say "YouTube channel" but I've recently started upoading these videos onto other platforms as well.
Last time I was at Camden (last Sunday), Zombie, a punk rocker who sits on the same bridge as me holding up a sign saying "HELP A PUNK GET DRUNK", wanted to take one of the paintings from my Blond Twine series, but he couldn't because they're too big. He only has a small space on his wall. He already has a couple of my Nirvana paintings, so I said I'd paint him a smaller Blond Twine, which I did that night. As I was painting it, I thought it would be good to paint another one in the same style, but of him. So I did, but as I was painting that one, I thought, I should also do one of, and for, Alan the Camden Market Town Crier. Then I thought of a load of other people I could do, and ended up with eleven or so people in this series I've called Blond Cards. 85 paintings so far. Included in them are @offgridlife and @ronthroop.
The Blond Cards went down pretty well at Camden today. Probably as well as any new series has done, apart from the Nirvana paintings.
