Learning Painting Techniques first results

Hello dear Steemit community!

This time I want to show you four paintings I made last year when I took a course on painting techniques, here are some of the results!

This is a drawing I made as a gift to my father, I used number .03 and .05 tip sizes pens and tried to follow the idea of doodling. The final size of the drawing is aprox. 12 x 10 cm. It took me four hours to complete it.

This painting technique of the bear and the humming bird was really difficult. It is called mix tempera, which means that the color pigment is mix with egg yolk, water, linseed oil and a couple of oil clove drops as a preservative. It is very difficult to handle if you don´t have experience. If you need to re-paint something , you can use water, but it is important to be careful to avoid cleaning the whole layer of the canvas´ underpainting.

In the following painting I used acrylic with the mix technique, which refers blending different type of materials. In this case I used newspaper and created a kind of paper mache with white glue (resistol). Then I applied some beads, gesso and sand, with acrylic colors also made by myself.

Last idea was a self-portrait based on the picture I have on my Steemit profile :). I like this picture a lot as you can see! I applied the Encaustic technique using wax, damar resin and linseed oil. I think I enjoyed this technique the most and it gives you many exploration possibilities! Just be careful to avoid the sun heat because it can melt your painting :)

I hope you like these paintings, let me know what do you think and if you need more information I will be happy to help!

Thanks for upvoting and comment!

Nicely done! I'm very impressed with the way you've drawn @lagom

Thank you! by the way I forgot to mentioned that in the portrait there are some words I wrote in Swedish, the pronouns, because I was thinking on the people around me :) I'm Mexican but love Sweden as you may have noticed in my past posts :P. Have a great day.
