JUXTAPOSITION: Autodesk Sketchbook Art

While I've been recently passionate about juxtaposing my works, it has made me realize it will only make me get better overtime as there's still a long walk to perfection, it's only a matter of time.

This particular work was for a friend and I had to represent him in the best possible cartoonized version of himself that I can, yet. This is someone whom I've done different works for and it has been terrible.

I actually used him to practice over a year ago.. Twice it was and he had to request for a redo. It took me over 4 hours to get it done and that's like my average time nowadays.

When I first started, my works lacked depth and class but I could still manage to squeeze something out in a matter of two hours. Although my all-time best is 55min and the work, surprisingly was not bad.

I seriously wished I didn't lose all my previous artworks which I had saved offline. I lost them this month and I wish I could get them back. Its always good to relive your past works and see how far you've come so that you can prepare for the long tedious journey ahead of you.

Shading a face with good facial expression may be a tall order and it actually requires more dedication and for the outcome, there's a thin line between outrightly disastrous and really impressive. There can't be a neutral ground, most times.

It also presents you with a new kind of challenge when you have beard and hair texture to perfect. These are outliers in the grand scheme of art that need to be perfectly integrated. Else, it will just look funny and could even - eventually - distort the overall image.
