I took some peices of acrylic fog mirrored and decided id try to skectch on it...thought it wouldnt work but turns out i was wrong ..made a mess of my fingers and hands though

Have you tried to look at it in various lighting situations? How do the highlights look under light? It's an interesting medium, I think.
A friend of mine does sketches on color washed wood panels with the inside of the drawing uncolored. It does look a little touchy though.
