RE: Inky Birds
A magpie will make its way into one of my drawings. I sometimes use their feathers to draw with when using inks. We have a few who spend their days hopping around our garden and the roof tops of the houses in our street. I recently moved my drawing desk upstairs to make the most of the light at this time of year. Now I have the perfect view of the magpies on the roof opposite, and a few times one has been sat outside my window ledge too.
How wonderful that you have magpies in your garden too and one has actually been coming to your window ledge. They are one of the most intelligent birds and apparently recognize people. They know who to avoid and who they can trust to come closer to.
Sometimes when I sit in the garden first thing in the morning, they will come really close and the other day when I was having lunch in the garden one came so close. He wanted whatever I was having. Hard not to feed them, but I don't because I like them to stay totally self-sufficient. We do leave water out for them though as sometimes it doesn't rain for weeks. Look forward to seeing the magpies come into your drawings now. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
They are very useful birds, they clean out the guttering on our house by throwing out all the moss when they are looking for bugs. I can always tell when they have been around by the state of our driveway below.
