Major Graphic Design Project Year 12

in #art7 years ago

When I was in my final year of high school -- 17 years old -- my major assessment was to create a travel magazine on a country of my choice. My dream country has always been Scotland, with its enchanting castles, rugged landscape, cosy cottages and GoT-esque history (Gabaldon's Outlander notwithstanding). Because of this, I chose Scotland as my final piece to create my magazine. I've attached a few images of my work below! Please let me know what you think of my graphic design, give any feedback and I would also love to share my process! It has been 2 years since I produced this work and I am proud to say that I believe I have become slightly more adept at Adobe CC

A popular colour combo! I used artwork from another designer (my 17-year-old self's fault for not noting who!) but there are some interesting details, such as 'Aon' which means 'One' in Scottish Gaelic.

My own handwriting that is drawn with a Wacom tablet! Highlander Elk is native to Scotland!

Did you know it is possible to rent out rooms in Scotland within a castle? Or if that's not enough you can rent out the entire castle! Or be the Lord and Lady you have always wished to be because purchasing a Castle in Scotland comes with the title! All of these images were followed by (stylised) Wikipedia articles!

Another article that was on the urban foraging scene in Scotland. Wouldn't you just love to pick and eat your own fresh food, right in the centre of the city?

And finally, Alba gu brath which translates to Scotland forever in Gaelic!

To see some more of my work, my portfolio is http://rabeeasoomro.tumblr.com/
See you there!
