Unexpected treasure

Treasure comes in many forms, and is not always expected. You can't put a price on a smile, or a laugh. You can't quantify the value of a hug, or any kind of affection. There is no price tag on an epiphany, no exchange rate for life experiences, and no such thing as complete bankruptcy. You always have something worth cherishing, and if you don't, you are not looking hard enough. People tend to see the world and it's inhabitants in terms of value, as if they are minted coins with clearly cut values. But there is so much in the world that is beautiful, and different, excitingly different.

We have all heard the saying, one man's trash is another man's treasure. Well i daresay that treasure is all around us! The problem is that the lack of a price tag makes it hard for some people to recognize all the treasure when they see it. What about mental treasure? Because you can always keep filling your head with new and valuable knowledge. What about emotional treasure? All of those heartwarming moments shared with our loved ones? What about altruism, helping others with their problems, that is valuable indeed! Some wear gaudy and expensive treasure on their bodies, but for some of us, the best treasure is the one we have inside of ourselves. Bracelets and necklaces of gold are one thing, having a heart of gold is another.

Which do you prefer, the treasure that has a price tag? Or the type of treasure that is priceless? Can you tell the difference?

Something that has a price tag is probably not a treasure...

I think treasure can be anything that enriches us in some way.
