Luckily I still have my ears at their original place.
Man Vincent was hard core, after that he did a self portrait -- tip of the hat.
Yes, his work is really outstanding, but the price he payed was way too high.
As far as I remember he didn't even sell his art during lifetime and only could survive with the support of his brother.
Interesting you mention that, it's something I had intended to work into a post about creative people, "putting themselves out there" at the mercy of public opinion.
