Crochet Water Lily
Hello :-)
I made this water lily yesterday and gave it to @charlotteblacker for her festival fun times :-) I love the colour of the pink wool, I think it's really striking.
Here's how I made it (all stitches in English):
- With yellow wool, make a magic circle with 10 half treble (htr) stitches in it.
- *(in front stitch of circle only) Chain 3, skip a stitch, slip stitch (ss) in next stitch. Repeat from * 4 more times to make 5 'loops'.
- (in back stitch only), Chain 1, skip a stitch, ss in next stitch (this is to off-set the loops so that you can see the petals better).
- *Chain 3, skip a stitch, ss in next stitch. Repeat from * 4 more times to create 5 loops. Tie off and detach yellow wool.
- Attach pink wool to the first loop on the front row, then work the following into the loop: double crochet (dc), half treble crochet (htr), 2 treble (tr) crochets, double treble (dtr) crochet, picout (chain 3 and insert the last chain to the first with a ss), dtr, 2 tr, htr, dc.
- Repeat step 5 4 more times for the front row of petals. Join together with a ss at the end.
- Repeat step 5 for all 5 loops on the back row, too. Join with a ss at the end, tie off and detach the wool.
