Well that thought is valid, considering the stories about its finding. But as mentioned, the place is very near to Patliputra where king Ashoka use to rule, also it is the place where Buddhism originated . So with all possibilities it might have submerged after the Maurya Dynasty.....might be the snake came out just to signal out the existence of that Yakshi....who knows.....there are so many mystery behind every history
