Homemade Blood - A tutorial for renegade filmmakers!
A blood recipe inspired by the great Dick Smith.
The main ingredient, wich is corn syrup, is impossible to find where I’m from (wich is Switzerland).
Ordering it from the USA would defeat the purpose of making your own blood and it would end up costing much more.
So what I found that yields the same results is glucose syrup. To find it you’ll probably end up contacting a bakery and asking them how to get a hold of some. Or at least that’s how I found it.
If you fallow the steps in the recipe you’ll never run out of blood on set.
Let me know in the comments what you guys think of this video and if you would like to see other tutorials like this one.
Thanks to @captainbob for giving me the push that I needed to launch myself into this new adventure.
See you guys around!

Haha! This is real blood.... I think it cloths too haha!, okay, the soap won't allow it to. It's a nice tutorial and a lovely video. It doesn't seem like your first vlog afterall, just like you had everything perfectly in place.
I'll love to see more tutorials, so I give you a follow.
Thank you very much!
I have experience in the video production field. I’m quite comfortable when it comes to lighting or camera work. But it’s my first time in front of the lens. That takes a bit more of practice.
But I thank you for your nice comment : )
More tutorials will come!

Thank you! I’ve only recently found out about this awesome platform.

I’m still quite amazed by this concept. It’s heaven for creativity!

Super great tutorial... You know... I'm just a mannequin and I need a lot of fake-blood to look like you humans, hahaha!!!
If you need a few gallons just give me a call : )
Bloody good video.
I heard that Alfred Hitchcock used chocolate syrup in the shower scene in Psycho, since it was filmed in black and white.
Thank you @movievigilante!
Yeah I heard it too. Always ahead of the curve, good old Alfred : )

Yeesh that got pretty gory there :) Loved the shots of your hand smearing the blood around the sink. You have a good film presence, surprised to hear you do not have experience behind the camera. Looking forward to more tutorials and just more of the bear in general!

Wow! Thank you very much! Actually I have experience behind the camera. I don’t have experience in front of the camera. But I appreciate that you like my film presence; gives me a bit more confidence in doing more of these videos in the future : )
About being featured in the Author Showcase I see it as a great honor. So of course You can quote and use my images.

I don’t know what to say...
Thank you so much Carl. Great beards think alike : )
Or was it with a great beard comes great... oh fuck it! Thank you so much man! You really wrote a flattering post.
lol
Ooop lol that was a typo or rather a brainfart I meant to say "experience in front of the camera" - yeah I had picked up that you had experience on the other side, just goofed what I was trying to say :) Talk to you on discord. Cheers - Carl
Man I'm so excited you took the plunge and made this! Great tutorial and dude, that is extremely real looking haha. Great content and I can't wait to see more :)
You created a monster ahahah!
Glad you liked it. Hope to be up to the task : )
Haha! Great video and instructions on how to make fake blood. You're right, it's one of the most popular recipes to attempt in cinema. I have done a fair amount of b-horror and it can get so sticky being covered in heavy corn-syrup based fake blood. I've been covered head to toe in it myself- adding soap is a great idea :)
Also, I am just starting to be in front of the camera more for vlogs after spending the last decade behind it- I am starting to be less self conscious but it's still very weird. You're doing great!
I hope you continue to make Steem/Dtube videos, and if not, let me know where you go so I can follow you. You've given me some inspiration on what I could post about too. I used to have fun doing intricate wound work- I would dig seeing how you do wounds, or any camera tricks you have found :)
Thanks for posting this, and by the way, there's one other recipe that comes to mind that is very popular in cinema, and everyone has their own recipe for. It also comes from dick...s. Porn might be mostly where that lies though- I have spent the vast majority of my career as an erotica director ;)

Hi Lily.
I’m sorry but in my religion we refer to people like you as the devil for promoting promiscuous acts. So I can’t speak to you.
Just kidding 😄
That is so interesting! I work as a director myself. Mainly live tv directing but also one camera reportage.
I’ve always been very intrigued by the adult industry. I would love to find out more about that world from an insider.
You sound like way more experienced than me in the field of special effects. I have little to no experience in the make up department. I never made an attempt at making a fake wound, would love to see how you go about it.
I’ll make more tutorials on in camera effects but I’m still very uncomfortable in front of a camera. But seeing all this support makes me wanna keep going.
About that other recipe... why don’t you make a tutorial? I think it would be equally interesting and hilarious! 😉
You guys are damn! hillarious.
Haha I really should embrace our dark lord more perhaps, I hear he’s loads of fun ;)
That sounds really interesting to me, your directing live tv, and I am always in the mood to hear about in camera and post production tips. I’ve been so set on my focus of erotica for so long that I am actually excited to be freelance for the first time in a long time. I’m at a time to be exploring creatively, and desire to genre hop and learn new techniques/excercise forgotten muscles. So I’m stoked to find your content, it’s inspiration for me!
I’ll still totally be producing porn and I think that’s a great idea to do a tutorial on “man milk” lol. Hahaha
I have a feeling that you’d enjoy playing around with wound makeup- but making visceral digital effects is super fun too, and it’s fun to see you doing that, and am sure folks would dig tutorials on that here too... “How I made my head explode!” sure sounds like a winning piece to me!
You do have a good camera presence, don’t worry. :)
Wishing you so much luck here- please keep in touch! If you find yourself on discord, my username there is the same as here.
Ciao for now!

It was destiny : )
By the way, what’s the number attached to your name on discord? Without It I can’t seem to be able to find you...
:) it was fate bwahahahah
Oh on the number! Thanks- it’s #6388.
Not nearly as cool.
Awesome film making but GROSS!
Ahahahahahahah!!!
I’ll take it as a compliment 😄
