Hyperrealistic paintings......these are not photos, but paintings! Leng Jun
Leng Jun (冷军) is a Chinese Surrealism Artist that has become well known because of his amazingly realistic paintings.
These paintings are in such detail, that they can only be appreciated with a magnifying glass so that you can check out the tiniest details of things like hair shadows, or material fibers.
Even the pores on the skin are visible! It seems that he refused to leave any detail out of the paintings, and it shows in the realism to the eyes.
Before we go into some of his work, lets take a look at the artist himself.
Leng Jun
Born in 1963 in the Chinese province of Sichuan. In 1984, he graduated from the fine arts department of Hankou Branch of Wuhan Normal College.
He is vice president of Wuhan Paintings Academy and he won the Art Award in the 2nd Annual Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition, Beijing, and the Golden Award in the 3rd Annual Chinese Art Exhibition. His paintings have been sold regularly at auctions throughout China and have been acquired for private and institutional collections worldwide..
The most striking feature of his work is the realism and detail to the work. he will spend a large amount of time making sure he understand the details of the image and translates that to his work.
You will also notice that generally he prefers the more classical approach to his work, where the subjects are still and calm, yet the emotions of the work carry through regardless.
I hope you appreciate and enjoy this as much as I believe it should be.
Enjoy!

I'm sure that whether you're an artist or not, these are brilliant enough to draw your appreciation for the skill and eye of this artist.
I am not able to do anything close to this, let alone paint it with such skill.
Do yourself a favour and check out his work.
he actually has a video on YouTube with a time-lapse of him doing a portrait of a student.....his skill is amazing!! And the way he holds the paintbrush is also interesting.
Enjoy!

Amazeballs isn't it?? The eye for detail that he must have to make it look like this is phenomenal
wow... this is truly amazing. What an awesome artist.
I cant imagine the hours of practice that it must have taken to develop the skill to this level. I have huge respect for people like this
So do I. The patience! The keen eyes.
