Art Explained by a Writer: Interiør med to unge mænd, lampelys

"Do you see what I see?"
"Uh, do you mean those two young men by the lamplight? They look just like you and me, like us as we used to be."
"That's not what I mean. Take a closer look."
"I've been looking through this mirror for so long, and nothing's changed. How long have we been here?"
"I've lost track of time, if time even exists. Again, take a closer look."
"Uhm... hey, wait. I see what you mean. The cracks..."
"Indeed. The cracks."
"It's finally happening. It's probably only going to be a little while longer, don't you think?"
"Ha, absolutely. Our time here is up. The future is coming! Do you know what you're going to do yet?"
"Breathe! Eat, drink, dance, see the sun, roll through the grass. Surely there's still grass?"
The last words hadn't even been spoken when the mirror shattered into a thousand pieces. Finally, they were free. And the two young men by the lamplight? Still just as neatly painted and framed.

Este sí es un verdadero ejercicio de ¿Qué ves? y ¿Qué siente?
This is a true exercise in "What do you see?" and "What do you feel?" You saw cracks and felt that everything was coming to an end; and it did. But only to a certain extent, because the painting remains painted and framed. That made me realize that art has the magic to endure through time. Excellent.
Viste grietas y sentiste que todo llegaba a su fin; y llegó. Pero hasta cierto punto, porque el cuadro sigue pintado y enmarcado. Eso me hizo pintar que el arte tiene la magia de perdurar en el tiempo. Excelente.
