ARTWORK: "Silenced by your own fear"
"You have the right to remain silent..."
As the Miranda rights state but the reality opposes to, for this rule hasn't always been adhered to by most humans in any concept taken into place. Because some, are deliberately stripped off of their capacity to express and to voice out their thoughts with the fear of what would come after their so called freedom. Maybe it isn't always the truth that will set you free...
For this sketch, I'd like to disclaim any rights on the concept or idea. This sketch was imitated from some random photo on the internet. My apologies if I could not provide any link of the original artist for this image has been copied so many times and I am not able to track the original uploader of the image. If anyone who sees this post will be able to comment down the original source, it will gladly and mostly be appreciated. Thank you.
Today I'd like to share one of my artworks that I do mostly when I'm bored and grim but no social media/means can cure it. In fact I hate that I had to turn to the social network sites to spill my predicament in personality. In my strife to achieve something great, or be productive, I find comfort in venturing the world of Arts. Unfortunately I am more of the rationalist and not much of the idealist. For those who haven't heard about the topics, let's have quick overview on the said topics.
Rationalist
This type of people are the ones who base their actions, opinions on logical reasoning instead of emotions or beliefs.
In philosophical terms...
Four Distinctive Features
- The principle of sufficient reason (PSR) - Every fact has an explanation; there are no brute (inexplicable) facts. There is a reason (or cause) for everything.
- The priority of reason (or intellect) - This can be expressed in various forms: (a) We can know some propositions in a particular subject area by intuition alone, or by deducing them from intuited propositions. (b) Some knowledge (or some concepts) is innate: We know some truths (or concepts) as part of our rational nature. (c) What we know by intuition and deduction, or what we know natively, we could not know through sense experience: reason is indispensable for knowledge. (d) As a mean to acquire knowledge in a subject area, reason is superior to sensory experience. What we can know is significantly independent of experience.
- The possibility of synthetic a priori knowledge - A Kantian characterisation: we can acquire non-trivial (non-analytical) or substantial knowledge about the world in a way that is independent of, or prior to, experience
- The importance of method - Analysis. Showcase: Descartes’s Meditations. Working ‘backward’ to simple selfevident truths; no givens; proceed by immediate cognitive grasp of basic principles. Synthesis. Showcase: Spinoza’s Ethics. Working ‘forward’ in a series of deductive demonstrations to prove particular truths in geometrical fashion; begin with definitions, axioms, and postulates that make conclusion inevitable if the steps are valid
Idealist
On the other hand are often referred to as optimists, someone who values principles and trusts their intuition instead. In a simple sense, idealists are often defined as contradictory to rationalists.
All Idealists share the following core characteristics:
- Idealists are enthusiastic, they trust their intuition, yearn for romance, seek their true self, prize meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom.
- Idealists pride themselves on being loving, kindhearted, and authentic.
- Idealists tend to be giving, trusting, spiritual, and they are focused on personal journeys and human potentials.
- Idealists make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational leaders.
So why did I tackle on the said topic? As I have mentioned earlier in this post, I am on the rationalist side and given that, I find it hard to create any real and raw ideas/images formed using my imagination. Learning the technical stuff, logical and analytical concept is easier for me to get to in comparison to imaginative skills. If you dig deeper into the whole epistemology, you'll find it interesting how these theories can basically define your personality accurately. But I am not saying that these theories will define your entire personality.
Personal thoughts on my sketch...
Well, since it wasn't my original idea and I only drew this because I had my own definition of the sketch. I may not be able to create the concept but I can define them using my own words, based on my own experiences.
Why have I entitled it, "Silenced by your own fear..." because from the title itself, you can already tell. The drawing somewhat represents how the same instrument made up what you can see everything through and what the world can see from you, and how this instrument can easily take that away from you. We can always be given a chance to speak but the choice might be vague. How is it that something you wish to tell is the very same thing that will destroy you? How can you call that freedom when it locks you up in another black hole. And so the famous law steps in, "You have the right to remain silent..."
Well I say...
And so it would seem..
END
So that's basically how I painfully try to express how an art appeals to me. I do hope you all like it and I hope this post has been informative and helpful enough to you as I now aim to do here on Steemit.

Hi! Thank you ! :)
Nice article. I'd like to think that I'm more of a rationalist, but get emotional when it comes to my kids lol. Logic flies out the window.
Hahaha, of course. I definitely I understand. We all turn to a different path every once in a while, sometimes it's mandatory. Good to know you have wonderful kids! :) I hope they're not giving you a hard tie :D
Well, Zepp has special needs, so hard times goes with the territory, but we've since taken a lighter approach to it and loved him for what he is, and not for what we want him to be.
That's beautiful. I dont have a kid so I wouldn't know how hard it is but I can really tell that you're doing a great job as a parent. 😊 I hope the best for your family and wish you well! 😊 Hope I can see Zepp at one of your posts 😊
Thank you for the kinds words. All the work is shared with my wife, and the support group of families and friends. :) I can't take all the credit for it. :)
