Roses and Letters on Canvas
Greetings dear Steemians Happy start to the week, to start this week on the right foot, I have a very creative prepared post about my first work on canvas, work that was commissioned by a colleague who trusted my art and decided that it was I who will perform Next, I will be showing you step by step what this project was like.
Materials
- 1 Canvas of 1.60 Mts
- Cold paints
- Water
- Brushes
- Graphite pencil
Design Composition
Lettering style calligraphy surrounded by flowers made in free style, these are illustrations of cayenas, roses, gerberas and daisies, the flowers are joined by petals that make sequence between them in the form of filigrees.
Initial Step
With the graphite pencil preferably a 2H pencil that are clear, make the sketch on the canvas to dominate all the spaces for which the painting will be composed, in this case I make the stroke of the lettering first to subsequently know the remaining spaces that I would have left to place the flowers, once I have defined the letterig and its size, I proceed to make the sketch of each one of the flowers.
At the moment of starting with the first flower, I always delineate its outline with the background color it will have, in this case this flower was white and then start from the pinkest tones to the darkest pink with which you make the folds and effects. For every flower and detail that I make, it is not necessary to have all those tones that in the photo appreciate, with a little water and other colors help we reach those tonalities that we want, the important thing is that you master how you prepared it so that in a next elaboration you stay the same.
Here, if you notice the canvas was a little more advanced and taking more shape, the process for the development of this flower was exactly the same as the first, just trying with the yellow tones and with the small brush to make the details of the center that are the ones that brought the most.
For the development of the third flower as it is one that its petals do not have many folds but if a blurring of colors, I had to use the orange on the tip of the petals and go fade down with lighter shades that prepare little ligand little orange with white and yellow, the tone that comes out of the center out of the petals is yellow, this with a little water also displays the color in watercolor effect, because in the case of yellow we want to close on the orange with a soft and delicate presence.
In the elaboration of the rose it had only a red tone, but I could make several tones with the white and since the red was not dark enough I linked it with a little bit of vinotinto to make the areas of folds and shades of the rose, the other cup that they see in black, it is not more than a little coffee to continue with the project without affecting the dream.
With the completion of the rose proceeded to make the details and the filling of the leaves that are part of the filigree in the design, the canvas was taken for a day to be made the opening of the holes in the extremities since was going to be hung when it was ready.
Result
That's how I finished the whole process for making a canvas of this size, that although its composition looks simple, I merit a lot of work in the details, which are the ones that attract when the painting is ready, as personal advice I would like to tell you that When they are large jobs or that deserve many details it is good to rest after certain hours of work, in order to clear a little the mind and generate more ideas that we can attach to the project and so when we get back on track with the work our muse and this rested.
